Kitchen Timer:  To teach your kids how to take turns using the same toy set your kitchen timer to 10 minutes and give the toy to one of them to play with first and when the timer goes off have that child give the toy to your other child.

Teacher Influence:  If your kids are fighting and not playing nicely, stop them and have them answer the question - What would your teacher do?

Ask how they feel:  Ask your child before bed or at a time when they are not in the midst of playing unfairly - How does it make you feel when someone doesn't share with you?  Write it down and next time they are having trouble playing fairly remind them what they told you.

Take the toy/game out of play:  Make your kids aware you are taking the toy/game they are playing with and have them see where you are placing the toy as a reminder but place the toy/game out of reach.

Don't teach cheat:  Teach kids to play games fair, shake hands or high five each time there is a winner and when the game is over.

Blame it on nothing:  Don't rush to put the blame on one child or the other.  Instead find a way to teach and show your kids what would have been a better solution to them fighting.

Great job sharing: Congratulate your kids when they play nicely together.

Go over the rules:  Remember kids don't just pick up how to play fair.  Demonstrate how to and go over the rules to games before they even start playing.

Provide lots of play opportunity:  The more chances your kids have to play with themselves and others the more opportunity they will have to learn to play nice and share.
